"Dona dona" lyrics

I’ve eaten the green grass
And all of the yellow flowers, too
Even though I can’t see for the red sun,
I’ll go where my blue heart leads me

The sky is cheerful; I’ll never grow tired of gazing at it, but
The sky prevents me from realizing that I’m all alone
He’s strange in some respects, this particular lonely person
Well, he’s quite similar to myself, so I should meet him one day

Have I drawn these memories out of my dreams, I wonder?
What should I sing to ridicule this lonely person?

Swaying, swaying,
Where will I go?
Swaying, swaying, swaying,
Where will I go?

I have to leave behind the fragile things
What should I dance to tease this lonely person?

Swaying, swaying,
Where will I go?
Swaying, swaying, swaying,
Where will I go?

These are the millions of lies I’ve prepared
But all of these pieces are from real stories
The place that I’m thinking of says no trespassing
I’ll go out and look for that on this quiet day

Song and lyrics both written by Ryuutarou.
Track before this —> sanatorium

There’s Yiddish a song called “Donna Donna” that seems to be pretty popular in Japanese culture and I’m assuming that this song was influenced at least a little by it. The original song is about a calf being led to slaughter though. But I think the symbolism to it is how people can’t change how they’re born.
